GQ Magazine Redesign

This magazine spread was another piece of spec-work that I did after reading Anthony Bourdain’s memoir, Kitchen Confidential. I sketched a picture of Bourdain, then took a picture of the sketch and de-saturated it to get rid of the yellow hue of the room light. I did the same with a blank page so that I had texture behind the text on the right. I brought both of these elements into InDesign and began laying out type.
