Mindful Photography
Mindful Photography was a personal project in which I captured moments in my day, then laid them out to create a unique form of storytelling.

A Breakfast Burrito, Starbucks French Roast Coffee, my Bonsai
tree, a fit check inspired by a long-dead photographer,
and further procrastination of my Portfolio work.
After watching a Tiktok on how starting your day right can lead to changes in how your brain sees the world, and deciding that was how I was going to make it through senior year, my mornings have been very similar. Get out of bed as soon as I open my eyes. Immediately make coffee, then check on my plants. The first of which is always my Bonsai. After that is done I usually muster all my expertise from working in kitchens for 5 years to making a subpar breakfast. Today’s was a breakfast burrito made with the lonely last egg and copious amounts of Mexican blend cheese. Following breakfast was another cup of coffee and homework. Recently I have been trying to dress up more. Ya know, be all spiffy and all that and I am thoroughly enjoying it. So if you see me one day walking around the J-school with an outrageous outfit, my sleep-deprived brain thought it looked good this morning. Anyway, don’t ask me how but Vivian Maier’s self-portraits popped into my mind today and so I decided to try and recreate some of her work while doing a fit check. And yes, I did have to look up her name. That’s all she wrote... peace.
